Student work display...

I always hang student work in our local library. It is a lot of work but I think it is one really great way to advertise for my program. When you are a visual art teacher, you need to advertise 'visually' in as many places as you can. Make yourself seen!

  1. What did you use for that display? Is it a poster frame? I love the look.

  2. Janie- I did use poster frames. I like them because they are a standard size. I place my art work on black tag board and just bring the tag to the lib. This way I simply trade out the art. The hanging hardware was provided by the library. It two is wonderful! Not sure what it is called or where it is from. Next time I am in I will ask about it. Thanks for the comment.

  3. Mrs. Hahn, I love this idea for displaying work out in the community! Very cool. I have a question about the art in the pic along with the number sentence art...it looks like you were doing geometric vs. organic shape. Can you share about that project?
    Thanks, love the blog!

  4. Amy- I went back to pull up the post on that project and noticed I never wrote about it. I will do so in the next couple of day. It could be about geo. vs. organic but I was teaching them overlapping. Check back in and I will post about it soon. Thanks for the comment!

  5. The poster frames look really finished and professional! I wouldn't have thought to use them with multiple pieces; it looks amazing. Libraries are amazing. We did the B.O.E last year. I know this sounds crazy but the busiest spot in our town is Mickey D's. They even have local bands play there for a "senior night". I've never seen anything like it in my life. It might be worth asking to display art there because kids will actually see it. If you can't beat em join em?
