4th Grade Day of the Dead

By request of my friend Erica.... Here you see the 4th grade image of the skulls. This projects emphasized contour line. I let them add a little glitter if they had time. They were really excited about the outcome!

  1. Yay! Thanks, they are awesome! Thanks for sharing. Are they crayon or marker? I only have 1 marker project (geometric shapes) and they love markers and colored pencils. I still can't get over how great it is to have a take home note!

  2. This project was colored pencil. Here is the deal with the art note on the back of their projects. They ROCK for lots of reasons. I use them for a starter a lot of the time or a review. So I may introduce intermediate colors and then the next week I will use the art note to review. That is when they glue it on the back of their project. Other times (K/1 mostly) I have the art note on a large format and they simply fill out the worksheet and flip it over for their art. Kids know how to put their name (and teacher code) on a worksheet so you can read it. When I ask them to write their name on the back of their project it could be anywhere... Large, small, sloppy, in a doodle, anywhere. I can read the names quicker with a art note. I may blog about this subject again this year. Art notes have helped me out a ton!

  3. These are GREAT! I love Dia de los Muertos! I'll have to look through your old posts to see one of the "art notes" you mention in the comments.
