What kind of supplies for a young mini?

I mentioned 'giving the gift of art' a couple days ago and I had a lot of commnets. Many people think this is a good idea. One of the questions was, "I want to do this for a one year old. What are some things I could put in the art pack?" I gave a couple ideas such as finger painting with pudding, and contact paper with tactile ribbons. I know there is more ideas out there.

What would you put in an art pack for a very young child? What are some creative thing to included for an older child? The holidays are coming up... Let's help each other out.

  4. My one-year old loves to use corn syrup (Karo syrup) with food coloring in it. It's just sugary if she eats it, and dries shiny and pretty. Looks great in a frame without the glass. She also has a lot of fun with shaving cream~after discovering it doesn't taste so great! Crayola also makes crayons and markers that are large balls so little ones can grip them easily and start scribbling.
