I was reminded that I still haven't posted about the silly band adventure. I was checking out the resent blog posts and saw that Elementary Art Fun was doing a silly band lesson. This was something I posted about last month and never go around to showing you the results, so here it is.
A while ago I asked you to help me come up with ideas to use silly bandz in a lesson. Some one suggested Filthwixardry. Great ideas for printing. I used a small piece of modeling clay and silly band rings (because they are smaller). We used other tools to add texture as well. I didn't have any print pads (I think that would have worked better) so we used tempera cakes instead.
It was an OK, one day project for me. I think it could be bigger but just wanted to experiment a bit. As you would guess... the kids loved it!
Such a great idea! They aren't banned yet so maybe I will try this!
