Those smart kids...

I asked my 4th grade students to place their work on the 'side counter top' one time and one of the kids took his scraps and folded it so it make a small paper easel. When I went to pick up all the work I saw the small structure and was amazed. I took the idea and used it for 'free' displays for clay slab work.

I took a small cardboard and folded it in 3 places as seen above.

I used a little hot glue to make the whole things stick together. They were wonderful. Thank goodness for teaching the teacher!

  1. Great idea! I love it when we get ideas FROM our students.

BTW, I still have trouble with your blog, which is why I sometimes don't leave comments (and why I never followed through with the Exquisite Corpse exchange). When I click on your blog, it doesn't jump around like it did a while ago; it just freezes for about a minute, which in computer time seems like FOREVER. Then it does it again when I click on the comment button. FREEZE!! Ugh. It doesn't seem to happen w/any other blogs, so I don't have any explanation.

  3. I'm going to have to link to this post over at my bulletin board blog. So often I have wished that I had small easels. These, I can definitely afford. Thanks to the little artist who came up with this. jan

  4. I have 100 ceramic plates to display. I wasn't quite sure how. They are beautiful so the idea of not displaying them was not an option. I'm so excited I found this post!
