Here's how I did it...

and

Here a couple of things I have used to teach Exquisite Corpse. Maybe this will help you. I have done this lesson with 2nd, 3rd, and 4th grades. All were a success! Here is the prezi. Below is the youtube of how I taught my class.

  1. This looks like a fun lesson! Thanks for the tutorial and the Prezi! I used Prezi before but maybe my computer is too slow, or old because it took forever to make and mine wasn't as cool as yours! I may try this soon with third grade.

  2. This prezi is wonderful. I enjoyed what your created very much. I'll have to try making one sometime. Do you have the free version or paid?

  3. I love Prezi's. I have my 6th grade computer class creating their own Prezi's. They really like it. Your Surrealism Prezi just gave me a great idea. I should have the sixth graders do one on a famous artist or art style and then use it in art class. This is why I love blogging so much! Thanks for sharing Mrs. Hahn.

  4. I never heard of Prezi- cool! Is it like... a dashboard?

I tried doing the Exquisite Corpse with my first graders a few weeks ago- WAY over their head... They couldn't quite grasp either 1)staying inside one section only and 2) not completing each section (each kid kept finishing off their bodies in every rectangle!)... this youtube is great- should help for the future.

  5. I like your tutorial! I've never heard of Prezi's have to investigate. So did you combine the whole class together or did everyone make their own book?

  6. Kathy- This is a free version of Prezi.

Brittney- Great idea. You can give the an outline an ask them to answer certain qualifications that you would want your other students to know. Good way to allow your students to become teachers!

Hannah- Not sure on dashboard. I will have to look into it. I don't know if I would do the Exquisite Corpse with 1st grade. My second grade had a bit of a hard time with this project... but they caught on and LOVED it!

Art Project Girl- Everyone is going to get a book with other works. We made this into a trade and we have a school in Australia and one in GA sending us work. We will have art work from other students in each book... It is going to be great!
