Pinterest

I have heard of Pinterest but I just figured I didn't need another thing to do online.  I saw someone pinned me on Pinterest and when I clicked on it, lot's of people have 'pinned' my blog.  I had no idea.  What do you use Pinterest for?  How could you use it with students?  How do you use it professionally or personally?  Do I need one?

  1. Holy smokes it is addictive! I love it and use it for recipes, inspired ideas, room makeovers, etc. If you clip magazine articles or pictures this is the way to go.

  3. It's a great way to organize ideas and tips, both personally and for the classroom. I love that the website is saved so that you may revisit it later, when you want to see more information.

  4. I started out just putting all of my lesson plan bookmarks on there. Then, I started pinning quilts that inspired me. Now, I have recipes pinned, home photos pinned, and a few random kid things. I mostly use it still to keep my lesson plan ideas together. It especially helps if you have used someone else's idea and want to remember where to give them credit later.

  5. I am just getting started with Pinterest. It can be humongous time drain, but is a great tool if you can keep control of your time. How much time have I spent previously trying to find some project I had bookmarked or noted in an unpublished blog post? with Pinterest, I can choose a single picture - a great visual reminder. You can bet I'll be pinning some of your lovely pics!

  6. Love Pinterest but it can be addicting. I use it to store lesson ideas I'd like to try out, and also crafty DIY ideas. It's very convenient for sorting/organizing lesson ideas. For fun I'm also saving recipes and sort of a "wish list" of stuff I love that I will never have.

I'm blown away by how many images from my blog have been pinned by people. Almost a little creepy...

  7. It's pretty cool when you find all the people who have 'pinned' you! :) I used to have a folder on my computer full of pictures I saved from websites here and there as inspiration for lesson plans and my own personal stuff - now it's all online in one place and i LOVE it. I think you oughta get on board, Nic! Just when you thought you couldn't spend any more hours on the computer...along comes Pinterest.
