Free-Form to Geometric Shapes

My 3rd grade had a blast with this one.  It was a quick, two day review on geometric and free form shapes.  I got inspiration from, Art Projects for Kids.  Kids first drew the geometric shapes and splashed water on it.  After it was dry, they found new free form shapes.  The real fun part of this project was looking for the new images the free-form shapes created.  Some of the kids just finished it as a non-objective work, but other found abstract images throughout their piece.  For the instructions and video on how we made this project, click here.

This is not the first time that this process has interested me... Check out this spin off that I did with my middle school students a while back (click here)
