I think they look like little patchwork quilts. It's a great i...I think these look pretty cool. It's a great idea. My only concern with younger kids is how long it must have taken to do. The learning takes place and then the tedium sets in with some kids, while other kids (and adults like me) could just doodle like this forever.<br /><br />I did a doodle project (I refuse to call then zentangles) with my 5th graders last year - we just divided up the paper with loosely curled or wavy lines crisscrossing the paper and then filled all the little spaces with patterns. We put them away and any time a student finished early or had some extra time they worked on adding the patterns. They worked on them all year, I swear, and they turned out great!
