eARTh Day - Make Your Mark

I was so ready for eARTh Day this year, and really excited about it too! But... there was a break in our regular scheduled life and it was put on hold. Please let me share how far we got and the lesson incase you want to add this to your list of projects for the week of eARTh Day.

We used high quality watercolor paper, but you can try any paper that is absorbent. We used my fancy tracers but for this project, just make a circle. Flip a plate over and trace around it if you need something to draw around. We used Semi-Moist Tempera Cakes but experiment with watercolor, watered-down paints, water-based markers and water, or food coloring. We used coffee filters, but you can try tissue paper, paper towel, or face tissues. If you don't have the supplies, explore with what you have.

Let it dry! This really works best when you let the paint dry before removing it.

We used ink pads to make our finger prints, but you can color your finger with markers, wet them and print them. Try paint... watercolor, tempera, acrylic... look around what do you have. We used markers to make our details, but you can use a pencil, pen, colored pencils, or crayons... use what you have.

This was the first class... we were going to have these sweet projects hanging in the halls for conferences. Oh well... I'll have it ready for them to finish when we get back to school... whenever that might be.
