The secret is in the spray:) I thought this would be a fun way for kids to do a wax resist at this weeks 'Make and Take' at the Elk River Arts Alliance. Remember to come on down from 5:30 to 7 pm to make your own secret message!
Here is what we will need. Watercolor paper, a Crayon (we will use white), paper towels, and spray bottles filled with colored water (tinted with food coloring or other dyes).
Draw you secret design on the paper. Matisse is using white to keep it a secret until the spray.
Spray your paper down. As you can see... it's always a surprise to young artist what shows up. The finished art is below and you can see it puddle up a bit. This is where for our make and takes we will use a paper towel to dab up the extra.
