I am so excited to share with you what the students of Hassan Elementary have been working on for the past month or so. The entire school is studying the Artist Wayne Thiebaud. Every grade is creating work inspired by this man's great paintings. In the next several posts I will share what each class is working on, the process, implementation, and as always tips and tricks of each grades artwork.
Why? Why would I do a featured artist? First, I think it's great to have artists that you can be sure every student (staff and parent) truly learned about each year. So take one artist and REALLY focus your energy into him or her. I also think that Thiebaud's work is so applicable and interesting to all ages of elementary students (and beyond). Finally, the way I choose our artist this year was inspired by the fact that it is Hassan Elementary's 10th birthday. So in celebration all students are making a 'treat' to display in the school.
There are lot's to read about in the upcoming posts... I even have a surprise that I can't share until after the fact. It's a big event that all students will get to participate in, but no one knows about it yet. Stay tuned for more!
Yummy! Can't wait to see what you post.
