I need to do a check. Please let me know if you are in with the ATC project. This is what I think so far...
K - My K's will have the introduction to ATC and do them a couple of times. I plan to have them trade with their parents for Valentines Day.
1st- I plan to do the project I did with my study group last year. We did a warm up card every day with a letter of the alphabet. The last day they got their whole set back and they were able to trade them with one another or keep their set.
2nd- Anne from Australia will be my trade for the kids in 2nd grade. I'm still looking for another class from Australia (being Australia is a 2nd grade study in their home room). I need about 50 more students. Is there anyone out there that would like to trade with my kids?
3rd- Christy (from Indianapolis) I'm hoping will trade with my 3rd grade.
4th- I will be shoving ACT down my 4th grade throat:) I plan to have them trading with each other, with other schools in my district, with others from America (and beyond). I will use the ACT cards for their warm ups and if there is extra time in class. This group will have trading cards available to them in their classroom. The 4th grade team is great at collaboration so I know ACT's will be supported by them. I also know that School Arts Magazine has a trading card contest every year. We might enter in that as well. Right now I have the following classes that want to trade.
Lauralee (from NY (Right?)) is one trade. Kathy (from Florida) has a small number of home schooled kids who would like to do a trade. Marci (from Wisconsin) has a small classes as well. I think Erica (from Connecticut) has a large group that could trade too.
5th- I have set something up with our Cultural Liaison to do a trade with Japan.
The purpose of writing this post is to make sure I have everyone... or to see if anyone would like to join, (2nd grade from Australia or 4th grade anywhere) now is your chance. I'm organizing this project and I want to be able to present it to my kids and parents for open house. I'm so excited (if you can't tell).
Looking forward to trading!
ReplyDeleteI would love to be a part of this project. I teach grades 3-6 (about 100 per grade). I need more info about what to do, but I'm in!
ReplyDeleteHi,
ReplyDeleteJust got our classlists today and they are a work in progress. We get a lot of no shows (off to magnet schools) and new students who failed to register. I will let you know my numbers as they are on Friday. Is that okay??? I want to start in the winter to ward off the winter lull.
